A solution for the situations where a customer wanted/needed to draw a sword from the back but the length of the blade made it impractical with a full scabbard. A short sheath section covers only the tip of the blade while a loop on the crossbelt secures the hilt. To draw the blade one hand grips the handle of the sword and pulls while the other hand grasps the sheath to hold it in place. Subsequent versions of this rig included a swivel at the sheath to avoid twisting of the crossbelt and a keeper strap across the back to prevent the crossbelt from falling off the wearer.

(Slashed leather jerkin also created in our shop.)
